Bloody Mary by Heidi Elder continued..
A chill ran down her spine, and slowly she turned her head to look back into the mirror. This time, when she tried to scream, the hand in the mirror flew to her reflection's throat. She stared as there appeared a woman's head which hung right next to her own, long black hair traveling down a body whose feet didn't touch the floor.
The woman's eyes were bloodshot--nearly bulging out of her head--focused somewhere on the ceiling. Her mouth, wide enough to stretch from one side of her face to the other.
The harder the girl tried to scream, or to escape, the tighter the apparition's grip became. The girl's eyes rolled back in her skull as her vision began to darken; a woman's voice hissed in her ear as she did.
"Bloody Mary," was all it said. The voice carried on monotonously and lulled the girl into unconsciousness--a blood-red stupor--one from which she would never again awaken.
